Contribution Reporting (2009)
The information that is required to be lodged covers some basic member details like name, address, date of birth, etc. Then there are the contribution and other transaction details. Explanations of this data follow:
- Member Information. Based on records on our system, we advise details such as each member’s full name, address, date of birth, etc. The address may be either a home or work address, whichever we have on file. The Tax Office prefers a street address rather than a PO Box.
- Contribution data. There are twelve items under this heading, although many are
uncommon. An explanation of the main items is as follows:
- Employer contributions. This shows only employer contributions for the member during the financial year. Please note that if there has been a rollover from another fund, and if there were employer contributions included in that rollover, those employer contributions will be included here.
- Personal contributions. This is the total amount of member contributions, including both concessional and non-concessional.
- CGT exemptions. Both small business retirement and 15-year exemptions are included at these labels
- Co-contributions. These are government co-contributions and are included at M under “Any other contributions”.
- Other transactions. Includes net income (or loss), rollovers in or out, benefit payments and finally the closing account balance for the member.
